What is this program about?
TRU Start is an opportunity for students to take Thompson Rivers University courses for dual credit. These courses can be taken on campus or through Open Learning. Students may take a maximum of two first-year university courses while still in Grade 12. The following courses are offered:
- English 1100
- Sociology 1100 and 1210
- Psychology 1100 and 1210
- Economics 1900 and 1950
TRU Start Programs are an opportunity for students to take a certificate program in one of:
- Health Care Assistant Program School District 73 students are permitted to enroll in the September intake only so students are advised to plan well ahead of their grade 12 year in order to meet all graduation requirements.
- Early Childhood Education Diploma Program School Districts 73 students are permitted to enroll in the September cohort only so students students are advised to plan well ahead of their grade 12 year in order to meet all graduation requirements.
What do students earn if they take this program?
Students earn dual credit. The TRU course is recognized on TRU transcripts and counts as a four credit course on the BC Dogwood Diploma.
